Started in 1997 by Al Oppio and his son Jason Oppio.
Jason and his father decided to spread their talents from the marine business, into the Hot Rod world, in the 1990's. Their hot rod business and family reputation flourished in the community. They built another building in Sparks, for their hot rod shop, which created a more workable service area. Their business continues to bring in new generations of customers and technical talents.
With the hard work of Jason Oppio, the business has grown rapidly in the last several years. Al's Rod & Custom now focuses more on full restorations, including custom chassis, full modernization of LS engines, body and paint, new glass, trim, wheel and tires. We still appreciate working with tune-up and mechanical upgrades. We will rely on local upholstery shops for some interior work.
Our Team:
Machelle - She had worked in sales for the majority of her career, but came to work with Jason to handle all of the business end of the shop, including payroll and the books.
Eric - He just celebrated 5 years with us, and still enjoys working in our body shop.
Marco - He came to work with us in the fall of 2019, and has been a nice addition to the body shop.
Gage Oppio - We are happy to welcome back a reliable mechanic. He worked through HS in our shop, and then after HS worked full time for 2 years as an apprentice. His experience and time have upgraded his abilities from apprentice, to trusted mechanic. We encourage him to work on more technical jobs, which gives him confidence and abilities.
